Visit Rwanda Becomes Arsenal’s First Official Sleeve Partner

Visit Rwanda and the English Premier League side Arsenal FC have entered into a three year partnership. In this partnership, Arsenal will advertise on the sleeve of Arsenal shirt. The three year deal which was unveiled on May 22nd will see “Visit Rwanda” displayed on the Arsenal kit for season 2018/19.

Rwanda is now the first official sleeve partner and the move is aimed at promoting the country to the rest of the world and specifically the country’s tourism industry and environment.

The partnership has been announced on the official Arsenal FC website and confirmed in a statement by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB). The agreement is between Arsenal and the Rwanda Convention Bureau.

According to the Arsenal website, Rwanda has became the club’s first official sleeve partner and the move aims at promoting Rwanda as the leading global tourist destination.

The Visit Rwanda logo will feature on the left sleeve of the Arsenal team shirts from next season.

The Chief commercial officer of the club, Vinai Venkatesham, said that it is an exciting partnership which will see us support Rwanda’s ambition to build their tourism industry.

The country has been transformed in recent years and Arsenal’s huge following will bring Rwanda into people’s minds in a new and dynamic way. The Arsenal shirt is seen 35 million times a day globally and we are one of the most viewed teams around the world. We look forward to working with the ‘Visit Rwanda’ team to further establish the country as a leading tourist destination.” He said.

Clare Akamanzi, the Rwanda Development Board Chief Executive Officer said that “Rwanda is thrilled to be partnering with Arsenal”. The partnership will showcase the vibrancy and beauty of Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills”.

She added on that “Visit Rwanda and discover why we are the second fastest growing economy in Africa. Investors in Rwanda are able to register their businesses in only six hours and prepare to enjoy the opportunities accrued from the free trade agreements that we’ve signed with over 50 countries. Renowned for our incredible and unique gorilla tracking experience, tourists can also enjoy a variety of water sports, cycling, hiking, bird watching to list a few of the tourist attractions available while in Rwanda.”

Rwanda is one of the fastest growing economies in Africa. The country aims at promoting Rwanda as a global tourism destination and the country aims at boosting tourism within national parks.

The country is renowned for incredible and unique gorilla racking experience in the Volcanoes National Park, chimpanzees in Nyungwe Forest and traditional game viewing safaris in Akagera National Park. The country also offers a variety of water sports as well as experiences that include cycling, hiking, bird watching etc.

From the deal, players from men and women’s teams will visit Rwanda as well as club coaches.
Arsenal will also hold coaching camps to support the development of the game for boys and girls in Rwanda.
